Can you talk about anything with me? Tell me how was your day, something interesting you've learned, just send some stuff you like, anything.
I'm lonely and have nobody to talk to

Anonymous 139464

If you're the cat in the picrel then I don't mind chatting

Haha, I wish I was an adorable kitty, but unfortunately I'm not. But I have a lot of cat pics and pics of other cute animals

I got a covid booster today and now my arm hurts.

How was your day OP?

Anonymous 139474

>>139471
Oh, I'm sorry, hope your arm will get better soon

My day was pretty bad but that's not the best topic to talk about

Anonymous 139475

>>139474
That's ok. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Post more kitty pictures OP!

Anonymous 139476

hi OP, I'm sorry you're lonely. I live a very solitary life most of the time so I understand. I just put a birdbath outside and I keep obsessively checking the window in hopes to catch a bird taking the first dip!

putting out bird feeders and squirrel feeders has dragged ne out of some of the deepest pits I've gotten in emotionally. they're just so cheerful I can't help but smile when I see a squirrel zoom around or a bird nuzzling around in the seeds I put out.

I can second this. The more you watch the birds and learn the different types, it's like getting to know different families and their personalities. One family will act one way, and another, another way. For examples, seagulls, pigeons, and blackbirds are all birds but act completely differently.

You can get binoculars and a guide book pretty cheaply and then mark off all the different types you see. I guarantee there will be more than you expect. You will also start to recognize the different songs which is really fun too.

Thank you and sure!
>>139476
Nice, I've never seen peopel put birdbaths outside, just bird feeders.
And it does sound wonderful! Seeing birdies or squirrels or other little wild animals like hedgehogs is always nice. Do you like bird-watching?
>>139477
Sounds fun indeed! I suspect I have a woodpecker somewhere nearby because I'm hearing some sounds similar to the ones woodpeckers make and I think I might have seen it once but I might have confused it with another birdie like magpie, so now I wanna consciously spot the little woodpecker
Any bird you find the most interesting, maybe the most interesting among those you've spotted?

One of my favorite YouTubers is going to re-read a book series from my childhood over the summer. It's a small thing, but I'm hyped for it.

I also found out another YouTuber I watch made a comic on Webtoons.

Anonymous 139484

I slept in way too late since today is my day off, woke up being pummeled by my cats. Not much else happened, but surely everyone else had a bit of a more eventful day.

I love birdwatching! Though I'm not as knowledgeable as others. I used to go on hikes with a bird book but now I'm content just being able to identify my favorites.

I used to feed the squirrels like crazy at my old place- I would give them names and be able to recognize each one! They would act so differently- they started to trust me so well that they would come up to me whenever I would come home from the store. It really felt wonderful to get that kind of acknowledgement. I knew that I was important to them. I even had one jump on my shoulder, and others that would climb on my lap to take nuts from my hand. Never got bitten, only scratched once very lightly by one that fell off a branch trying to reach out for me lol!

One was a mother who ended up building a nest right by the door I would come out to feed her- I ended up watching her babies start to take their first journeys.

I have 6 at the moment, 4 of them actually belong to me, the other 2 I’m babysitting for a friend. The 4 I got pummeled by are all kittens so it’s welcome though.

Most people hate them but I love pigeons. They are so harmless and coo coo in a really cute way when they see each other. They walk funny and look chubby and cute.

I love blackbirds too as I think they have the prettiest song though it sounds slightly sad. Whew-choo-whu-whu-whu-whu.

More exotic birds like parrots and hummingbirds are nice too for their colours.

Magpies are nice, just to see if you can catch them trying to steal anything shiny.

To be honest, there's not a bird that I haven't found something to love it for. They are all so unique.

PIGEONS yes, I was at Home Depot the other day and couldn't stop blubbering over a pigeon in the plant pot section. I probably looked like a total tard but I'm so over giving a shit about that. Also 10/10 points to the pigeon family shitting all over the pots, reclaiming nature.

I think that's still cool, I am also not very knowledgeable about birds but I like identifying the ones I spot. What are your favorite birds?

That sounds absolutely adorable, seems like the squirrels really liked you!
>One was a mother who ended up building a nest right by the door I would come out to feed her- I ended up watching her babies start to take their first journeys.
So cute. I only had a mother pigeon put eggs in my empty flower box when I was younger and raise her babies there. I don't know why she chose it but it was interesting being able to just see baby pigeons in your flower box
>>139489
That's quite a lot of cats! And yeah, getting pummeled by kittens sounds pretty adorable in a way! Did you adopt those kittens or are you the owner of their mom?
>>139490
I also kinda like pigeons, especially the ones with less common color like brown or white but they're pretty cute in general. I've never seen a magpie try to steal anything shiny but that sounds pretty cool. I once seen a crow break a bottle though. I think she was trying to lift something from a trash bin that had a bottle in it and accidentally pushed the bottle out to the ground. I always wondered what's up with the glass pieces just laying on the ground and now when I'll see it near trash bins I'll be able to theorize that some crow accidentaly broke a bottle.
Seems like you really adore birds and that's very cool!
>>139499
Haha, I mean, you might've looked pretty weird but a bird in the store sounds like a pretty interesting occurrence to me so I would probably also blubber over it.

All of them are strays, found under a broken down porch. Their mom and one last kitten still live there, but trying to catch them and bring them home so I can check for disease + make sure they get fed has been a challenge. I’m not getting much of a response from animal rescue places for the 4 already captured kittens, but all 4 of them are relatively free of disease besides being covered in dirt and random bugs.
Sorry for the sperging my mind has just been fixated on these cats since the moment I got them.

Anonymous 139508

>>139507
Oh, I am glad that kittens are mostly well and it's very kind and admirable of you to take care of them!
And don't worry about sperging your mind out, it's just a thread with random chatting about stuff and I specifically asked to talk about anything with me so this kitten talk makes me feel better as well

Oh, I don't think they actually do that but it's an old wives tale here that they steal shiny things. I think it's been proven to be false. Still fun to look for to see if you can catch one in the act.

I forgot to mention my favourite thing about pigeons, the way they tilt their head in a very cute inquisitive way to look at you.

watched Ran (1985) last night. have you ever seen it? it's pretty good imo, tho i was surprised by how stupid Jiro acts in it and am still confused why Saburo was being a jerk in the beginning.
