Why don't more of us use birth control properly? I have only been out of high school a few years and already at least half a dozen of my friends have gotten pregnant. I take a pill once a day, that is basically free and I don't get pregnant. I know it's not 100% but it's really close.

It's not that hard, do they subconsiously want to get knocked up without being married? "Oh ill just not take birthcontrol and let some guy blow loads inside me, what could go wrong?"

why people, get it together

Anonymous 46098

Because too many people on this planet are careless and don't think too much about the consequences of their actions.

Have you tried asking them? Are they married or no? I need more info. Most of my friends in High school either went on religious missions, got married and pregnant, or went to college. Not many accidental pregnancies to my knowledge.

Anonymous 46111

I only had two past high school classmates give birth so far and one of them was kind of expected to, being born raised in a village with extremely traditional views and all. Her husband looks like a goblin and she was so cute lmao
The other girl had a high school sweetheart and she's 22 now and didn't go to uni so I'd assume it's a natural course of progression by now.

Those people want to get pregnant. In my country, the average age to have a child is 28 and I don't know of a single unplanned pregnancy. If people were careless, don't you think there would be more people here having kids straight out of school/college like in the US?

I missed a dosage of the mini pill yesterday, had unprotected sex twice since (didn’t realise until after) and won’t be able to buy a morning after pill until tomorrow. Reassure me that I won’t get pregnant guys, I’m freaking myself out

Depending on when your last period was you're probably fine.
If you're taking Plan B tomorrow you're definitely not going to get pregnant lol

Maybe they
>ran out and didn't have the insurance coverage/weren't able to find a planned parenthood/had too high a copay/forgot to get it refilled
>forgot to take it 2-3 days in a row for any number of reasons
>stopped taking it because they got worse side effects than you did or it was making them fat
>never took it because they have one of a long list of health conditions that make it dangerous to take
>never took it because they're Catholic or Evangelical or something and don't believe in it or still live with their over-controlling parents, so now they have no critical thinking skills thanks to the church and their family and their bf fast talks them into letting him stick the tip in

If you forget for more than a day, then yes ordinarily you'd just start a new pill pack and stop fucking/use condoms til the instructions say it's safe, unless you
>are raped
>are getting frisky with your bf and forget you're not supposed to be fuckin'
>think it will be ok just this once because you're under 25 and think you're invincible
>use a secondary method of birth control like they tell you to, but that fails because you're dating a shithead who can't put a rubber on right

I'm just saying, you asked how that can happen, that's how it can happen. If you live in the US and aren't in a super-liberal area, the sex ed at your school probably sucked, and your friends might not have understood the importance of educating themselves like you did (or they weren't allowed to til it was too late, again over-controlling parents).

Should be a comma after "family," I swear I proofread twice before I posted. See, mistakes happen.

This. I don't defend idiots who can't into bc properly, but it fucks with you in many ways. I once read that it's way more dangerous than the pills that were made for men, but men are bitches who can't accept the idea of having sex but not producing sperm/ejaculating.
Using condoms should be necessary, though. Like in any case. He whines about it not being as pleasurable? Sucks for him. Put your health first, not his dick. He isn't worth even a millionth of your body, health and well-being, ladies. Remember, he either puts on a condom, or he can fuck off. Unless you want a kid, then go off.
But fuck men who put themselves over something as life-changing as knocking someone up. They deserve to have their dicks cut off, they clearly don't fucking know how to use them.

Anonymous 46526

If you can't take pills can't you just get a copper iud?
That's my plan since the risk of losing my libido or getting hormonal acne doesn't seem worth it.

Not that it matters since I'm currently practicing the 100% safe method hahahahaa.
Ah.

It is not. Trust me, my mother is a researcher for Sanofi who was actually involved in reviewing the LA BioMed male birth control pill when Sanofi considered buying the license.

Acording to her, despite claims on the internet that it has "few colateral side efects", it is actually extremely dangerous in it's 2018 form and caused testicular and liver cancer on 11% of the mice used for testing, as well as skin rashes and impotency.

What is the use of a birthcontrol pill for men that makes them unable to get hard and has 1 out 10 chances of giving them cancer on the balls (which is only solvable by removal)? Kind of beats the purpose.

YES, EXACTLY!

I heard copper IUDs give you even more painful cramps and I definitely cannot take that. My cramps are the most painful thing I've ever experienced.

Anonymous 46532

>>46531
I've heard that, too, although it supposedly only lasts for a few months.
I guess I'm just fortunate in that I can muscle through mine with no pain killers, even with heavy flow.

Do you take bc pills then?

Anonymous 46533

>>46532
Nope, I really don't think they're healthy and pills hurt my stomach. I just use condoms.

Anonymous 46537

>>46531
my mom has an iud and she never has cramps
her period pains were barely noticeable even before an iud though. I'm thinking of getting one as well since my periods are irregular and painless

Anonymous 46540

Personally I'm a dumbass who can't remember to take a pill every day, so I sympathize with these accidental pregnancies until I remember Plan B exists. The cost of it will add up but it's a lot cheaper than an abortion.
Most pregnancies from my high school graduating class came from people who either were too naive about sex to get birth control or too fucked on various drugs to care about taking it.

Anonymous 46544

>>46532
Careful with copper IUD, I’ve read about doctors putting in ones that are too large and causing a lot of pain
