Task Accountability Thread Anonymous 6922

Need some support with achieving your daily tasks and reaching your goals?
What things do you want to get done today/tomorrow?

Here's a thread where we can put down our tasks for the day, cheer each other on for accomplishing them, and offer support/ideas for those finding it hard.

For example:
19th May or Saturday's Tasks or To do
- Do laundry
- Take out trash
- Read chapters 3 and 4
- Get out of bed before 9am

I'll start: I'm a fan of the ABC method, so:
A1-4 are things I absolutely must get done.
B1-4 being things that would be better if I could get them done that day.
C1-4 meaning could do it if I have time.

A1 - Read 3 PDFs
A2 - Respond to emails in inbox
A3 - Empty & load dishwasher
A4 - Notes up to date
B1 - Laundry
B2 - Plan an exercise routine for myself
B3 - Drink 1L of water

Anonymous 6924

I want to start studying regularly for a REALLY important test. I'm on mobile now, so I will come back later, but this thread will be perfect for what I need. Thank you!

Anonymous 6929

I have two midterms coming up soon so I'll put the task breakdown to prepare for them:

- Review sheet

Anonymous 6963

anyone have any tricks to amp up concentration?

Anonymous 6965

>>6963
Pick a good focusing environment.
Use the pomodoro method that OP included when starting out. It basically has you do short blocks of concentration with breaks in between. A good way to start out and build up your stamina and ability to focus for longer periods of time.
Also, have a plan or goal, so you can hone in on what you want to get done. An example for studying would be to "get N problems done," "read and annotate N chapters," or some other quantifiable amount so it does not feel like you're just staring at the material.

Anonymous 6997

>>6965
>Pick a good focusing environment
nta but can u pls elaborate?

Anonymous 7003

>>6997
It varies from person to person the type of environment that makes you the most productive, but generally a place that:

>Has no major distractions (Some people like silence, some people like ambient noise like a cafe)

>Comfortable, but not cozy (You're working not relaxing)
>A good work space, some people cannot work where it is cluttered or dirty, keep supplies that you will need (paper, pencils, snacks, caffeine?)
>Access to a place to take a break, bathroom, etc.

Hope that helps.

I've been really unproductive lately due to my depression making an appearance again, so if I can get just one thing done today, just one fucking thing done, I'll be pleased.

- Read through Chapter 2 notes
- Clean my paintbrushes and art supplies from last week
- Upload and review the reference photos I took last week for my art
- Plan my week ahead

Wish me luck anons <3

-Do laundry
-Go to yoga
-Order dogs’ food for next month
-Get my July spread/tracker done (bujo)
-Clean the kitchen

Some of these I can knock out super quick. Just realized my class is at 2 instead of noon, so that gives me more time to do things.

>>7829
Oh, yeah! You've got this! Can't wait to hear back, anon!

Anonymous 7856

I did everything except I didn’t finish cleaning the kitchen. But, I cooked lunch and dinner for my SO/myself. So I feel pretty good. Thanks, anon!

Anonymous 7875

Ahh I forgot all about this thread. Today I updated my resume and sent it off several times. It's not a lot to most people, but it is to me. I'm pretty content!

Anonymous 7876

>>7875
Be very content! Trying means you have made the effort, and now it is time for it to rewarded! Wait patiently, anon!

Anonymous 7877

You go buy that watercolor set right now. Get a cheap one and get a white tempera too while you're at it so you can fix mistakes. The sooner you start the sooner you'll learn

Thanks, hope you did well on your tasks!

>>14900
Do you have a specific routine to help you do tasks everyday?

Anonymous 14972

>>14900
I attempted NaNoWriMo once, and I started a terrible, cringey piece of shit novel that I kicked to the curb on day 5 or so because I was so fucking embarrased of it. How this fucking idea has any relevance is beyond me.

Anonymous 14980

>>14935
I'm >>14900 and my problem is that I do my tasks at a different time every day so my goal is to figure out a routine. Stretch, walk the dog and workout early in the morning so I feel energised and then do things like read and meditate an hour before bed so I'm training my body to wind down at a certain time! I heard someone say before that if you do all of your most difficult tasks at the start of the day, the rest of the day is nice and relaxed and from experience that's 100% true.

>>14972
I think the beauty of NaNoWriMo is that it helps people who are huge procrastinators (like me lol). It teaches people to be more disciplined and to just get into a routine. I don't even think it matters if what you write is cringey, it's just making yourself work hard and realise your potential. 50,000 cringey words is still really impressive because it's 50,000 words lol. Also drafts are always horrible anyway.

My goal for right now is to pass my driving test. This will my 3rd time taking it and I just want to stop thinking about it already. The test is on Dec 13 and I pray that I actually get it this time around. I feel a lot more confident behind the wheel so hopefully that'll mean something.

Anonymous 15195

I get too nervous/anxious and forget everything I've learned when I take the wheel lol.

Anonymous 15219

Anonymous 15222

A little update on my progress.

Daily Tasks
I've been good at drinking tea/water. The weather suddenly turned bad so I haven't been bringing the dog out every day but we were out today and it was nice. Everything else I seriously need to work on.

Long Term Goals
Bought the watercolour set but everything I tried to paint turned out out dreadful so I haven't touched it since. I haven't added anything to GitHub but I have been learning Python. I applied for two jobs since my post, I was rejected from one and I'm waiting for a response from the other (fingers crossed for an interview). I didn't have anything prepared for NaNo so I didn't even attempt it lol.

Anonymous 16261

>>16252
You should try working through Zed Shaw's "Learn Python the Hard Way"
Here's a free download:

Anonymous 16270

eughhh, I need to finish and submit my final dissertation revisions tonight. It's just formatting, not even content, so it should be easy-ish.

I'm >>15184 and >>16239 and I failed again yesterday.. for the same reason: Parallel parking. I did it perfectly three times the day before but… i don't know. This time I got inside the box finally (we used cones instead of real cars) but I was too far away from the curb and I didn't know how to fix it… The instructor gave me ample time to fix and she even repeated herself multiple times to try to help me. -sigh- will I ever get this shit?

Anonymous 17918

Sorry about that anon, but I believe in you!
Now that you know what the test format is like, you can recreate those conditions by getting non-car obstacles to practice with.

I tried to type out some tips, but I think in this instance diagrams and video is more helpful:
