I'm offended by the lack of Azumanga Daioh in this thread

Azumanga Daioh is a must for a comfy manga/anime thread, along with Yotsuba&!.

A few other comfy recommendations I can think of off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned yet are:
Lucky Star
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii
Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko
Netojuu no Susume
School Rumble

While Ouran High School Host Club and Fruits Basket aren't exactly considered comfy, they also have cute boys and girls doing cute things in them and are great classics that I would recommend.

This genre is my jam. Along with what hasn't been mentioned yet, my faves are Aria, Amanchu, Bartender, Isekai Izakaya, Wakakozake, Binchou-tan, Gourmet Girl Graffiti, Hanayamata, Strawberry Marshmallow, Hidamari Sketch, is the order a rabbit?, Kiniro Mosaic, Yurucamp, Non Non Biyori, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (read the manga), Tamayura, Yama no Susume, Someday's Dreamers, and Natsume's Book of Friends (this one is quite melancholy though)

Google the iyashikei genre for more recs.

hell yes.
I love your taste, anon. My favorite animes are the ones that have beautifully illustrated food and comfy restaurant themes. I'm super into Isekai Izakaya rn (the manga is gorgeous)
…although weirdly enough I couldn't get into Restaurant to Another World even though they have very similar themes. I like the emphasis Isekai Izakaya puts on meals instead of 'look at this cool dragon/princess/lizardman/etc!'
brb, checking out everything on this list.

> I couldn't get into Restaurant to Another World
I also didn't love this one, perhaps because I found the fantasy lore which they'd often dedicate a lot of screen time to not as interesting as just seeing beautifully illustrated food.

Speaking of food, I forgot to mention Silver Spoon (by the author of FMA)

Does the anime have pigs in it or is this just a cute pic?

Anonymous 3113

It's about a boy going to an agricultural highschool and a big plot point of the first season is him reckoning with where our meat comes from. That's his "pet" pig who he knows will have to become food some day. It's a comfy school/farming slice of life with comedy and realistic drama, the author of the manga grew up on a farm herself.

Oooo, I'll get around watching it soon. I love pigs
