2020 Anime Anonymous 5844
We had a thread for 2019 anime so I was thinking we could continue that with a thread for 2020 anime.
What seasonal anime are you watching? Is it any good?
[DulE] Pocket Mons…
Personally I'm watching the following:
It's been years since I've cared about anything related to Pokemon but the new series is really cute and I enjoy the SOL episodic adventures. Go is really cute. 8/10
A really fun show, it feels like it came out of the 2000s with it's style of humor and characters. The animation is a bit lacking but that doesn't matter too much for comedy anime. Watching it makes me kind of jealous because I want Iruma's life. 7/10
I'm not the target audience but it's an interesting premise and a funny comedy. The animation is pretty decent and the OP and ED are catchy. I do wish the main characters would stop sexually harassing the only non-prostitute girl in the show for the sake of comedy. 6/10
>Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu
The character designs and ED are cute but the humor is too mean-spirited for me at times, might drop. 3/10
I'm only watching because I play the mobile game, the characters are off model a lot and it looks like the rest of the episodes are getting significantly delayed because of production problems. The OP is nice at least. 4/10
>Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
I'm not a fan of the "adapt the manga page by page" style, I get that the character designs and art style of the manga are complicated but the lack of animation is really distracting. At the same time the anime feels pretty rushed. The VAs of Hanako and Kou are really good so that's why I continue to watch. 4/10
It's been really hard for me to get into anime for a while, but I managed to get back into the swing of it. I only just recently got back into watching stuff, so there's a lot of stuff that I plan to watch compared to what I've actually watched so far.
I recently watched up to the most recent episode of ID:Invaded. It's like a modern setting, sci-fi detective drama. Without giving away too much, the main character is a person who basically helps track down serial killers by entering their subconscious. It can be a bit unrealistic at times, but its entertaining and treats itself seriously most of the time. It's definitely teen-oriented, though. If you've watched you'll know what I mean. That's by no means a bad thing, but it definitely shows in some scenes.
Just recently, though, I started watching Somali to Mori no Kamisama. It's about a little girl who's been abandoned and taken in by a forest golem. The dynamic between them is a father-daughter one. While Somali acts really childish and cute, her "dad," the golem, is calculating, but very protective of her. The setting is sort of medieval fantasy. The artwork is really great too. All around, I really like it.
I watched the first episode of Kyokou Suiri, but I don't know whether or not I'll continue watching it. I figured it'd be more romcom looking at the tags, but it seems to be more of a Japanese mythology sorta show. I'll probably watch a few more episodes, but idk.
Early on, I also watched the first few episodes of Koisuru Asteroid, which I found super cute. It's a typical sorta high school club anime, but I like it. Also watched the first episode of Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasuna! It's another sort of club anime, but it's really stylistic and cool. It's definitely someone's passion project and it shows; really cool to watch! Also saw the first episode of Murenase! Seton Gakuen. It's another high school anime… But with animal students! It's quirky, but I like it.
Definitely a better season than previous ones, but it's not like I've been keeping up to date.
Some of your suggestions are quite interesting, thank you!
I really enjoy BNA: Brand New Animal by Trigger atm, recommend.
I liked dorohedoro a lot. Plus it was really cool to see because that was the first thing I've ever read that got picked up and turned into an animation.
"BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense." was cute and I think is worth a watch.
Welcome to devil Academy was adorable and very cozy.
Love is war was amazing too.
Thank you anon! I just watched the first episode and it was really thrilling, I'm hooked!
You're welcome! The author is really great, she is making a new manga now too. I haven't started reading it yet though.>I forgot to attach this image originally
Re zero season 2 has been pretty engaging so far. Really like this girl.
I wish I would have held off watching this so I could have binged it like I did the first season. It just keeps piling on more questions without resolving the ones we've been wondering about for weeks now.
I'm watching pic related and it's so comfy! It's an anime about fishing, it's really fun and educational. I like all the girls a lot, their personalities are unique for a cgdct show.
Watching Higurashi Gou for nostalgia and shitposting with old fans about it. It's a fun ride.
I don't normally watch seasonal anime, but
>Fugou Keiji: Unlimited
Kambe thirsting memes aside…
Fun, great characters, and an intriguing concept.
11 episodes was a bit short for the story development, but I had a good time.
And keeping up with Haikyu but normally continuing series aren't counted in "What Anime to Watch This Season" lists.
Fall stuff that I might check out:
>Ikebukuro West Gate Park
>Adachi and Shimamura
