So, what about a board dedicated only to interests/hobbies? Anonymous 6083[Reply]

Hobby/interests threads get posted on /b/ and die in a day as pinkpill/terfposting/low-effort questions are constantly bumped. What if CC got a new board only for hobbies, no moid problems, no trannies, no "tfw no bf"? Pic unrelated

Like I said in another thread literally /hb/ can be turned into /hb/–the hobby board. Beauty/health stuff can still be included. That board is already almost dead anyway.

If there's a hobby board then you can actually get more people drawn there for the explicit purpose of finding someone with their exact hobby. It might not be that active but there's no reason why it wouldn't be less active than /hb/ is right now.

Also this is controversial but I think changing it to hobby would be more feminist.

Anonymous 6172

I agree, a hobby board would be good. Let’s change /hb/ to hobby.

I am supportive of new boards but how would it differentiate it between /media/ since most hobbies are media related especially with cc’s user base unless I’m projecting. I feel like /media/ should be getting way more activity but it isn’t for whatever reason and I doubt people would share their creations in a hobby board for the same reason people on lc abstain for posting their art.
I’ve been a bit cynical and thought what’s the point when you could post the same stuff on other websites with more activity and get a discussion easily.
Either way it doesn’t hurt to make a hobby board but I’m worried that it will be so broad or overlaps with /media/ and cause problems.

ADD A MEDIA PENDING APPROVAL SYSTEM TO GET RID OF CP SPAM

a media pending approval system is a system in which anyone who posts a media must first wait for a janny or a "mediator" to approve the image. once approved, the media is shown to the public. in order to not flood the approval queue, a md5 hash is taken of every media and checked against a list of already pre-approved media. if the media that is being posted has a md5 hash match with the list of pre approved media, it doesn't need approval

it's already used by altchans and i can contact a developer of said altchan for you (or give you the altchan's name) to get the MPA

Whitelisting IPs and an account system are only similar if you're being super reductionist about it (unhelpful). Whitelisting IPs is far easier to implement and automate and more difficult to abuse in the long term while disrupting the regular users the least.

Obviously something like a post timer wouldn't be seamless for users, but that's only optional and if you're bothered by spam (CC is super slow anyway so that's probably not an issue). I think you could easily set up a system to reduce unwanted posts that would be invisible for regular users. Do you need me to spell out a specific solution? I'll only do it if they let me be a janny. Otherwise, I'm not doing their work for them.

Some solutions are not worth trying because they're objectively bad and the site admins have limited time and resources to work with. At best, you waste a bunch of time, and at worst, you lose a lot of users.

Anonymous 12281

>>12262
Oh holy shit I just reread the OP
Why the fuck would you whitelist hashes? That's a terrible fucking way to go about it. Jannies, please don't do this (they won't because they're lazy, not because it's a bad idea)

Care to elaborate why my post is "retarded"? >>12273

Anonymous 12297

I think cloudflare offers an "anti cp" feature. CC should simply use it.

Anonymous 12298

>>12288
Both you and your post are retarded. Session persistence in dynamic addressing is a non-issue for this. You are not sufficiently informed on this topic to have a constructive or helpful opinion.
Hope that helps.

I think we could use some more boards Anonymous 12257[Reply]

I think maybe c.c would be a bit more succesful if we had more boards, anyone have any ideas on possible boards and/or what to do about this?

Anonymous 12260

More boards would just dilute things even more

Anonymous 12261

why is there /hb/ but not a single hobby board

Anonymous 12272

holy shit it's wojak

Anonymous 12274

cp on /b/ again

Anonymous 12229

Why can't they just automatically hide all of the images of reported posts until they are reviewed by moderators?
That's where the most problematic content is.
It's like nobody in the 25-year-history of imageboards ever thought of this.
Moderating imageboards is obv. harder that moderating bulletin-boards, and these mods aren't trying very hard.

Anonymous 12231

this is gonna be abused hard eventually
still worth it tho imo

Anonymous 12252

Why'd you delete the discussion about circumcision in >>>/b/299429 ? It's not even against any rules.
This is why nobody comes to cc anymore. Every thing is getting deleted. Quit deleting everything. Let us have our fun.

Anonymous 12256

>>12253
um it's not about the pp ok. it's about the psychological consequences of something beyond the persons control causing anti social behavior. also because the real conversation is on b and it's related to the topic.

if this is too icky for you maybe try club penguin? the site is 18+

He must be just another incel/redpill/mgrat parroting the shit from twitter 2016 to today trying to be edgy/based, since he doesn't have the capacity to think of anything on his own. He must be a little faggot with a lot of sand in his ass, needing a huge black guy to fuck his ass.

What's the % of male posters here and how to identify them?
77 posts and 3 image replies omitted. Click reply to view.

Anonymous 12166

You identify them if they admit they're men, and even then, they might just be cis females LARPing as men. As for being stupid or overly cutesy, some cis women are stupid or overly cutesy as well.

Make it so when a moid is banned, they can't appeal their ban and don't even get a notice of the ban. It seems like they are able to posts, but their posts don't actually show up so it takes them longer to realize they are banned.
