Which pokemon game should I buy for my switch? Anonymous 35354

Options: Arcesus, Sword/Shield, Scarlet/Violet

Anonymous 35356

I've only played shield and thought the gameplay could have been a bit longer

I liked Scarlet/Violet, was the first Pokemon I played since X/Y though. I was impressed with the open world and characters, but it really does run kind of bad. I haven't played the others besides the Mystery Dungeon remake.

I got arcesus and it’s pretty fun and cute! If you like rpg games with questing it’s gonna be fun. The style of your clothes and home it old timey japanese style which is really nice. Game play wise it’s pretty easy so definitely more sth to chill, i switched to different games at times when i felt bored.

I stopped playing Pokémon just before sun and moon and went in with low expectations but I still enjoyed Scarlet/Violet. My only issue was not intuitively knowing which story beats to tackle first so I had to look up a guide after getting bodied by the poison group, which took the fun out of the ‘you can do whatever you want’ vibe of the game.

Arceus if you want something a bit more novel than main series games Sword/shield if you want a more classic Pokémon game.
arceus has a different setting (insipired by old timey Japan) and focuses on wild pokes rather than trainer battles. the open world is cool and there's a lot of sidequests.
I personally didn't care for s/v bc it has shit graphics and the open world is kinda boring. But I heard the DLCs are better

I personally enjoyed arceus the most out of those three options
the setting, battle system, and quest availability make it alot of fun
that and the fact you can catch all the pokemon and evolve them without bs trade mechanics from the mainline series makes it better
also the battles reach cynthia tier by the end of it so its not a cakewalk like the mainline series either

New snap. It has the modern nintendo problem of being impossibly slow but it's quite relaxing and avoids the problems necessitated by pokemon gameplay.
