Star Vs The Forces Of Evil Anonymous 38040

Been rewatching this show lately and looking back it really did not age well and ended up falling apart badly

Anonymous 38041

I have never even heard of it but it sounds interesting. Why didn't it age well?
I find the art style kind of pretty.

i think it has to do with the main characters romance? like far down the line people actually liked them with other characters and they did a "how I met your mother" thing where the initial pairing doesn't work anymore.

After the first 2 seasons they basically lost the fucking plot. They tried being more serious but pumped a bunch of random filler episodes in which fucked up the pacing, the animation got really bland, they got rid of most of the original cast from the first 2 seasons (it's especially bad with the villains because by the last season they got rid of all the good ones and made joke characters the main villains), and honestly a lot more. The big plot of the second reason is that the wand breaks and magic is glitching out and it's pretty much instantly forgotten about and hold little relevancy after, a lot of stuff in season 2 was forgotten about honestly and it feels like such a weird season honestly. Vidrel is more in depth but that's basically the gist of it

It really does feel like they were either going to only have 3 seasons but got renewed and had no idea what they were going to do or scrapped the original final season (presumably with Eclispa as the main bad) and used some back up ideas from when the show was still about a girl with 9th grade syndrome.

They got renewed for a season 2 very early in season 1 so that's why they had that TV movie that felt more like a finale than the actual finale did. Daron Nefcy (the creator) said they were lucky to get 4 seasons but also it seems they knew they were gonna get 4 for a while so chances are they just got really lazy. She recently admitted the whole reason the show ended the way it did with so many loose ends was so that Disney would agree to give it a revival one day. The second half of the show genuinely feels like a whole different series than the first 2 seasons and the TV Movie, the animation also really tanks hard after season 1 and by season 4 it's super dull looking
