>shy nice guy MC who runs away from girls
>aggressive dominant love interest that supports him and hypes him up
Why is this so common in anime

anime slop like this is generally watched by teens and underdeveloped adults, so obviously their fantasy is a mommy that's gonna guide them socially (can't really blame em)

I ha(d)ve the burden of having to be around one such grown manchild. Their shyness reeks of entitlement. They won't say anything or express their needs directly and hide behind their shyness, and being around them is walking in a landmine. If you don't behave the way they expect you to behave, then they'll get cold, and start playing victim all over the place and blame you for hurting their feelings. They don't get the fact that the initial phases of love is going to be exciting when you get to know each other and when everything is done and dusted the excitement wanes off because there's nothing new anymore, and they expect you to be clingy throughout the interactions. They eat this kind of sappy ass anime shit up and expect others to be that way too. It is exhausting. Their shyness is just entitlement. They want you to love them for simply existing. The "effort" that they put in is also in the background, for example, this guy makes costumes, and not directly in the interaction and they expect you to put them on a pedestal and worship them. God, I fucking hate this anime so much.
