The best advice I've ever gotten is to hand write your notes and study material, don't type or record it. Something about that really cements it into your brain.

I like fayefilms on youtube for a bunch of basic advice. She's a little too upbeat sometimes and it kind of annoys me. For subjects where you have to solve a lot of problems, get a chegg subscription for the answer keys.

>>238205is it worth paying for? do people end up using it to cheat or is it more just to check yourself for incorrect answers

You can shorten longer texts to their essentials using ChatGPT, useful for making notes.
Anki (the application) is useful for flashcards. Force yourself to go through it even if it feels like you're not making any progress. On the first day you're going to be vaguely remembering names and concepts. The next day, these names will stick to your mind, and now you can start connecting them using logic and gain deeper understanding. Bit by bit.
When studying for oral exams, study out-loud. When it's for written exams, write down all of your answers. Over and over again until you get it right. Your brain subconsciously remembers even the movement of your arms.
If you have the time, make written notes and study materials, colour them in, graphically separate related topics, use numberings. Your brain also remembers information spatially, by location, so during an exam you might get lucky and connect two things because you remember they were both on that specific page that had a pink title.
If you have the space and it's natural to you, get up and pace a bit while studying. Physical activity makes your brain work better.

Any tips for calculus? I got a 57 on my first exam. I would need a 100 on all exams from now on to get a A, which I don't think is going to happen, lol. However, I can still get a B~ with studying well.

I usually use the extra homework he gives us as practice. We have another exam next Thursday and I don't know how well I'll do on it.

Do you nonas think planners really help? I was wondering if I should build a physical one or a digital one. Sometimes I see those really cute planners, full of drawings in studygrams, but that seems a bit silly to me, just to take beautiful pictures for the internet

>>238348I used it to check my answers and learn the steps, like for math.

Yes!! We’re currently talking about trig integrals, trig subs, partial fractions
I got a 57 on my first exam so I can’t fail this one too :(

>>238368yes but not if you spend too long making it cute. You can have a digital one on notion and paste cute pics into it. it just needs to be a place where you keep track of whats done and what needs to be done

I've been writing my thesis and developed a little personal biohack for concentration.
About an hour or so before bed, I brew some chamomile tea, sit down at my laptop, and do some light work on the text. Nothing too mentally taxing, since I'm about to go to sleep anyway, but I fix up my wording, add a new sentence here and there, go over the concepts that aren't so clearly structured and make mental notes on what I'm planning to change. I don't feel any pressure or expectation to overwork myself since I'm already so limited by time, so it's generally not very stressful.
The next morning, I feel like I understand what I was trying to say much more clearly, and I already know what's waiting in store for me so I don't feel that writer's block at encountering new information and not knowing what to do with it. My concentration and motivation also last much longer than usual. It's like all the intellectual concepts that are normally scrambled get sorted out during sleep, and are neatly delivered to me in the morning. Very convenient.
