You need to eat lots of tuna because it is full of omega fatty acids that are good for your brain and your heart.

love them. always have them for lunch or a snack or whatever

Anonymous 275373

Sadly, due to moids polluting the oceans and ruining yet another thing, there's a lot of mercury (a neurotoxin) in tuna.

Sources of Omega 3s without mercury toxicity include salmon, cod liver oil, olive oil, flax seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, and grassfed dairy and meats.

Not small fish like sardines ! Its mostly large fish that have the mercury because they consume so many other fish loaded with mercury.

Keep an eye out of escolar, tuna’s imposter that’s served in cheap restaurants!! It’s NOT GOOD for your heart or brain! It’s bad for your heart and causes nausea!

>eat lots of tuna
It's high in mercury. You shouldn't eat more than one can per week, and even that's bad for you.

Salmon is the superior fish. Low in mercury, high in flavor.

You aren't supposed to eat salmon more than once a week either..

Also loaded with protein

Rx fish oil removes heavy metals, I think. My mom gets them because her doctor is a g and just gives her what she wants.

Anonymous 275447

And we have basically enough for 4 people to take it and have tons left in the freezer. The types of omega 3 are really high too.

Sardines too. They have some of the lowest mercury levels and many of the same nutritional benefits as tuna

Anonymous 276079

For me, it's sardines. Affordable, keeps me fed for a couple hours, and they don't taste bad at all. I prefer their taste over tuna, actually. Usually eat them before bed

you can make a really delicious simple pasta sauce with a tin of sardines, crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, garlic, and onions. optionally you can add cayenne and oregano but that's to your taste. i like to add spinach too for the extra iron content, it's really good for you.
i also like making salads with sardines, chickpeas, pomegranate seeds, spinach, rocket, raw bell peppers, and red onions, with a lemon and sumac dressing (literally just lemon juice and sumac).
eating them out of the tin with some crackers is also an option, and can be really great depending on the quality of the fish.
i hope you come to enjoy sardines, nona….!
