I feel like people currently too obsessed with being seen as cringe and it makes everything feel so boring especially on the internet right now. Im not going to dick ride the early 2010s era because it had a lot of issues obviously but thing I miss is how free the internet felt back then. I know I probably have rose tinted glasses since I was a child but the internet just felt more lively and people were cringe and retarded without having to worry about normies making them lolcows and shit. (Yeh im aware that lolcows were still a thing but it wasn’t as mainstream as now I feel). I miss when everyone would just post dumb random shit instead of just caring about perception it’s so fucking boring. Tbh thats why I dont understand the bullying with millennials right now. At least they still have personality and are somehwat sincere. Maybe I am just overthinking doe

The internet is dead. When you go to one of the main site, like X or Tiktok, what you see have been tailored for you by a machine. The content might be old or even generated by a machine. No one else see what you see and it's hard to even reach a real human.
Personas controled by a computer were already a common thing in 2010. Elon changed his mind about buying Twitter when he understood how few of it is actual people.

I agree. ever since cringe culture became a thing (aka moids ruining everyone's fun), the internet has really shifted. I feel like (at least in the corners of the internet I lurk in) people are starting to embrace their more "cringe" side.

Yeah, I know the internet is so dead now. I've been so nostalgic about the early days recently because everything feels so empty and manufactured now. I miss when YouTube videos were made by ordinary people with bad editing, I miss those low quality cameras and people making videos about random shit. I miss the spontaneity and retardation. The outside world has always been full of normalfags obviously but now normalfags are all over the internet.. >_> I'm still not annoyed enough to just quit it entirely and go outside yet though. It's just such an odd feeling to see old places I used to frequent online turn into empty and desolate buildings (either that or it's just sterile and uninspired now). And the worst part is there doesn't seem to be any better alternatives
