Nurse vs. Correctional Officer Anonymous 335054
Got laid off recently from a job in tech as a business analyst. I was getting paid around $70k, which is kinda less for what I'm supposed to be making. I'm in my early 30s, and I have the opportunity to study and become a nurse, it will take me 3 yrs to do so, I can work a part time min. wage job during that period for about 15-20 hrs a week.
Alternatively, I have been selected to become a correctional officer some days ago - I had applied to being a correctional officer at a federal prison on a whim a year ago, and I'm about to start the training phase soon.
What should I opt for, nurse 3 yrs later, or corrections officer now?
No man in my life.
For context, I live in BC Canada.
