My family adores this one girl over me. I recall them commenting on her beauty and was reminded of how I was only complimented on beauty once. She fits more of the east asian cultural beauty standards. She’s thinner and paler than me. She even attends an elite university, so she’s smarter than me too. My relatives are even mutuals with her on social media so they keep in contact. Whenever she comes up in conversation, they mention her beauty and never do that with me.
I believe they would prefer to have her in replacement of me and it messes with my self-esteem. My own cousins call me ugly.
