The internet is a good form of communication in that it can connect billions of people, but that connection is distorted and leads to people being inhumane. People rarely talk and act like they do on the internet.
Also, it's a very small percentage of people on websites like 4chan, so the attention-seeking trolls stand out as the rule, not the exception

Depends what site I go on. Sometimes I get more angry than sad when I go on a certain app

I wouldn't say I'm too sensitive, but you should definitely avoid any site that doesn't filter/ban racism. It has gotten much worse in places like 4chan or X.

I wish that x could disappear from the face of the earth. I don't get near anyone that thinks that x has anything good or fun to offer

you’re not too sensitive. without a face or voice you can say whatever you want without disregard for others. it gives people a pass to vent out any horrid and baseless thought and encourages it.

Nothing on the internet feels like it affects me or is even directed at me.
Instead I feel like I'm too sensitive for social interaction. Knowing people and having them know me in return feels far too intimate and overwhelming, I'm always anxious and insecure because there is so much at stake. The internet protects me from all that. Even if I have to talk to someone 1 to 1 I can hide my face and my life and remove myself from the situation instantly and permanently any time I like.

Yeah this is a big reason why I decided to stay away from all forms of social media. I did try it a few years when it started becoming popular. But the overwhelming negatively I saw on many posts would too often ruin my mood, or the braindead content in most of the other posts just made me bored. Plus it's easy to become a target for random trolls by posting just about anything. And most posts I tried to make would quickly get buried in all the noise anyway. Overall it was a very depressing, isolating experience. Now I prefer to stick to more obscure places like small discords or forums. I will only chat with people who act like a decent human being. I would eventually like to ditch 4chan because I'm sick of seeing a lot of bad attitudes on there too but unfortunately it's nearly the only place I know of to see regular discussion on some video games or anime I like. Any recommendations for comfy places online with only nice people are greatly appreciated.
