Aren't the games super hard to beat though? And the original character designs look like they were drawn by a five year old
Anonymous 01/10/18 (Wed) 03:47:14 AM 2696
The games are quite hard to beat. It took me years to get good at it, so I can beat most on easy and normal.
Also, it is a little cruel to say ZUN's art skills suck entirely. But he makes up for crap drawings with beautiful and simple character designs that have all of these little shoutouts to mythology and stuff. Lots of artists love drawing the characters because their designs are so fun.
Sure if you compare Zun's art to those who have never drawn, he is likely better than 90 percent. But if you compare Zun's art to other established artists, 90% will surpass him.
If you truly hate the character designs, then it saddens me that you can't see the same beauty but I think we can just agree to have different tastes.
I think they look like lavish fairy tales and the girls are cute.

Anonymous 01/15/18 (Mon) 12:41:06 AM 2746
The artist is Matsuda and I can totally link you to their Pixiv which is a website where artists upload traditional or digital art.
Like a Japanese deviantart except it requires you to register to save the full picture which can be annoying.
As well as his twitter which has some rough art of the same characters…
Those characters are his original ones and the girl with blonde hair - Annie - is very cute!
I think some of his art would make great banners for Crystal Cafe, they are just not animated.
Anonymous 01/15/18 (Mon) 05:54:45 AM 2748 >>2746
Thank you very much! I am probably dumb because I can't put into words why these pictures fascinate me so much, but I just keep discovering so many new details. Most artists tend to focus their attention on their models so the background is often neglected, but these provide so much depth and (at least in my opinion) this piece showcases that the models don't have to be the centerpiece to make a beautiful picture. This could very well just be, how should I put it, a picture about the café itself, not the original characters if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing!<3

Thanks for the kind words but, I'm Canadian and this country really does not have a future, at least not a future for Anglo-Canadians. I will return to my patria, and maybe things will be better there.
Anonymous 01/06/19 (Sun) 06:10:56 PM 4977

Anglo-canadians are the future. Don't lose hope, please!
I think that we lose perspective of things because of TV and media… you don't need to fix your country. You only need to live a life worth living. Make you and those around you happy to live it. It is a fallacy that you need to fix your entire country: it will eventually fix itself.
Are you perchance… Venezuelan?
The problem here is that migrants are not equal to other migrants. Same as women or men aren't all the same. Migrants from South America are much less likely to rape you than migrants from misogynistic, patriarchal cultures filled with hate.

chinese signs.jpg >>4977 >If you have a problem with pic related you are a racist
Pic related is literally what parts of Richmond, a city in Canada, are like. It isn't small parts, I travel through that city several times every week to go to school.
Every large wave of immigration Canada has had has transformed the country into something new. When the French colonalists first came to Canada they whiped out the native culture, when the British loyalists went to upper Canada they whiped out the French culture, when contental Europeans came in the mid 20th century they degratded anglo-culture and now that Chinese, Muslims and and other Asians are coming they are whiping out our culture. It is just how population movements work. I'm not even very angry about it anymore because I've accepted it, I hope the Chinese can make Canada into something good, I don't hate them but, their Canada isn't my Canada.
Nope, I'm Italian and I want to go back to Italy. I really do love Anglo-Canada and if I did not view its future so pesemstically I'd stay here. I'm sure I could have a nice enough life here but I also care about the country my children, their children and their children's children will inheriet. I'm not really sad about it anymore, this land of wheat is a goodly land, but, it is not mine.

I'm living in capital of country that borders china and we got lots of street signs in centre in local/english/chineese. Whould you, for example rather go to "Сувениры" or "Souveniers", while having a trip? Because you rarely whould even know what is "Сувениры" is you probably just pass it. It just brings monies.

I want to say sorry if anybody feels this is derailing the thread with politics. I honestly love this thread and I don't have enought time in my hands to describe how much and why I love each picture so let me just say "thanks". This thread is the best thing I've found on the internet in a really long time, and it melts my heart.
What I was trying to say is that neither the french nor the british nor any of them did "completely" wipe out their predecessors, even if they did, as you say, change the country completely. Same as the Iroqui still roam the earth and perpetuate their traditions, I hope anglo-canadian culture lives on in the blood and traditions of the new generations.
I'm sad that you have to leave Canada, and I'm even sadder that such a country fell to a culture as barbaric and lowly as the chinese's, but indeed, it's their very insect-like nature what gives them such a prowess at evolution.
At least in Italy you will find a home and a strong movement of people willing to fight for and love their culture.
Anonymous 01/06/19 (Sun) 06:59:15 PM 4985
Those signs aren't like that because of tourism. There are tourist sections of the city that have writing and signs in all sorts of languages and it doesn't bother me. Richmond is a Chinese colony and the same thing is repeated by other immigrant groups in BC, but, the Chinese are the largest.
Thanks, senpai, I hope the Anglos (and Quebecers) that continue living here make something good out of it, but, it just isn't for me. I really don't hold any ill will towards the Chinese. Tbh I even like Chinese history and culture to a certain extent, I just don't want to live in China or a Chinese colony.
Are you Venezuelan? Is that why you brought that up? I suppose patria means the same thing in Spanish as it does Italian.

Thanks, and I do have a great deal of hope, that hope is just for Italy now, not Anglo-Canada.
Did you leave Venezuala because of the stuff going on with the current government? How is it in Argentina? As a North American, South America is always a bit of a mix of romanticism

Thank you for asking. Yes, of course I left because it became a communist hellhole. Nothing teaches you the meaning of hate quite like getting your hopes fragmented, if not shattered, one clear summer morning.
Argentina is cool I guess, kind of messy, but not a place I'd settle. Coincidentally, I'm planning on going to Italy, get muh masters, watch the Alps and bathe in the Mediterranean Sea of my ancestors (i'm half syrian).
As a South American, I also have a romantic feeling for my own home country and all of South Am. It's like this chaotic continent with a legendary past when "everything was better", especially Venezuela, but it all went to shit because "we didn't took care of it". I have a very bipolar relationship with Venezuela and with Caracas, particularly.
How is Canada? How come you love Italy, what do you mean you're "italian"? And if you return to Italy, will you go alone or are you taking your famiglia with you?

I'm sorry you had to experience such things in Venezuela.
I'm from British Columbia, on the west coast and my experience with the rest of Canada is fairly limited. BC has very beautiful landscapes, its mountains are the best and one of the things I like about this place the most (link below). The forests and the rivers are also very nice. Beyond that I don't have much positive to say about the current state of the province, but, I will still always love it.
I'm half Italian, from my dad's side and I identify with that more than any other part of my genetic Lineage. I've never been there and I am only learning Italian now. Ideally, I want to live in Veneto, close enough to see the mountains, like here in BC. I love Italy because it is a nation that is firmly rooted in history and more importantly, it is my country and the country of my ancestors going back for countless generations. In addition, recently it has shown that it will not be changed as easily as Canada is currently.
Some of my family members have expressed interest in going back to Italy too but, I'm not really counting on it. My family is pretty small to begin with.
Did you leave Venezuela with your family? Are you currently doing your undergraduate? What do you want to do your masters in?
Its been fun chating with you, do you have discord I can add you on or anything else like that?
