ADD A MEDIA PENDING APPROVAL SYSTEM TO GET RID OF CP SPAM

a media pending approval system is a system in which anyone who posts a media must first wait for a janny or a "mediator" to approve the image. once approved, the media is shown to the public. in order to not flood the approval queue, a md5 hash is taken of every media and checked against a list of already pre-approved media. if the media that is being posted has a md5 hash match with the list of pre approved media, it doesn't need approval

it's already used by altchans and i can contact a developer of said altchan for you (or give you the altchan's name) to get the MPA

additionnally you can "whitelist ips" to get pre-approval. usually this is done when the ip has a good post history or a 24h or longre post history.

hell no can you even imagine how long that would take with current moderation

>>12263
yeah

Anonymous 12265

>>12264
it's still better than having cp spam like IRGHT NOW

Anonymous 12266

>>12264
maybe get more jannies or something

Anonymous 12267

furthermore, since most cp spam is done by new users, you could just only require media pending approval for new users/less than 24h since first posting

Anonymous 12268

>2h and the cp links are still up

yeah you need to fix this problem now

Anonymous 12269

ive been on here since 2021. its been a problem since then. i dont understand why they havent tried to fix the issue

Anonymous 12270

another idea:

a user who's been here for 1 month can vote, along with other users, on whether to approve or not an image. the image is only visible to those users.

Anonymous 12271

also why the fuck is the site,s internal clock delayed by 5 minutes?

Anonymous 12273

>>12262
+1 Great idea, they should implement something like this.

>>12263
I'm not too sure about this; because IPs can change, a spammer could potentially end up with a whitelisted IP.

Anonymous 12275

also how about an account system? it shouldn't be too hard to implement

Forcing post timers and file approval for new posters if perfectly reasonable. However, these posters are retarded. Disregard their comments:

how is it retarded? an account will still let you post anonymously, just that the bar to start posting is a bit higher. not gonna inconvenience regulars, just people who are here to spam/troll/etc

Anonymous 12278

>>12277
No, you're generally wrong about that. Creating accounts or verifying with emails does not deter automated posting, spammers, etc. but it does significantly deter casual users (i.e. 99% of the real users).
Additionally, this site is so poorly managed and moderated that the task of adding an account system is too monumental of a task for them. If they even decided to take it on, the moderation of the site would suffer significantly.

Anonymous 12279

>>12278
Well, you're going to track "new posters", so that's just an account system by proxy, just tied to IPs instead of an account on another site (which makes it as easy to log in as pressing a button btw) or login credentials. None of these are harder to implement than the other.

Also I'm not sure what you mean by "post timers". Is it like time before posting just like on 4chan? How is that not going to deter casual posters? (or hidden images on say half the new posts for that matter LMAO)

I still think most of these solutions are worth trying even if they're not perfect, it's up to the mod team whatever they think is best.

Anonymous 12280

>>12279
Whitelisting IPs and an account system are only similar if you're being super reductionist about it (unhelpful). Whitelisting IPs is far easier to implement and automate and more difficult to abuse in the long term while disrupting the regular users the least.

Obviously something like a post timer wouldn't be seamless for users, but that's only optional and if you're bothered by spam (CC is super slow anyway so that's probably not an issue). I think you could easily set up a system to reduce unwanted posts that would be invisible for regular users. Do you need me to spell out a specific solution? I'll only do it if they let me be a janny. Otherwise, I'm not doing their work for them.

Some solutions are not worth trying because they're objectively bad and the site admins have limited time and resources to work with. At best, you waste a bunch of time, and at worst, you lose a lot of users.

Anonymous 12281

>>12262
Oh holy shit I just reread the OP
Why the fuck would you whitelist hashes? That's a terrible fucking way to go about it. Jannies, please don't do this (they won't because they're lazy, not because it's a bad idea)

Anonymous 12288

>>12276
Care to elaborate why my post is "retarded"? >>12273

Anonymous 12297

I think cloudflare offers an "anti cp" feature. CC should simply use it.

Anonymous 12298

>>12288
Both you and your post are retarded. Session persistence in dynamic addressing is a non-issue for this. You are not sufficiently informed on this topic to have a constructive or helpful opinion.
Hope that helps.
