On my own vichan instance I set up a filter than prevents posts from containing an image and url shortened link at the same time

Spammers still force their links through, but the obviously skeevy links are much less of a sitewide legal/reputation risk (and mental strain) than the pictures

Do you all believe the tinfoil that the mods are posting that shit? I mean it would explain why it takes them forever to do shit about it and why they half assedly mod the site

Image boards have an association with child porn (mods are asleep post sinks!!1!)that is 20 years old, so people trying to sell child porn will write bots to spam links on every image board it can.

I think this suspicion comes from low-quality moderation, where reported posts are occasionally deleted without review. This allows off-site spammers to show up and report a bunch of posts to get them deleted. I know I've had this happen to me a few times in the past where I'll make a seemingly innocuous post that gets deleted out of nowhere.
I think that if the site moderators were taken over by men, things would be a lot worse.

Honestly we need a new janny, Admin only came on because of all the CSAM complaints and the tinfoil of them being a pedo moid. We need a new mod if for no other reason than to stop all the threads getting randomly deleted when they don't even break any rules

Surely they have some form of verification and oversight, although I guess the oversight is somewhat lacking these days with some rogue jannies constantly deleting posts by regular users who are following the rules.
