I'll be honest, besides my NGE phase and even I forget NGE by now, I don't find mecha to be that memorable for me. And I watched a couple already, like escaflowne, big o, brain powerd, gundam first 3 shows, valvrave, baldios

When I made this comment, there're two female protagonists in gundam anime, none of them seems appealing from my perspective. "Women fans saved gundam franchise" indeed, then why the fuck no one made female protag cater for women?

I like Five Star Stories, watched the movie and read part of the manga.
Protagonist is a cute boy and also a mecha engineer, he pilots the "Knight of Gold" to save his beloved Lachessis from the evil Juba, the setting is inspired by the Islamic world, probably the Maghreb.

It's fiction - it doesn't have to reflect the real life.

i don't think it's as rare as one might think. going to shows has shown me that many harsher genres have a larger than expected female audience.

I'm 20 and in the past year or so I have gotten really into metal (mostly black, not a huge fan of death but I like some bands) after attending some local shows. I wish I had more female friends who are into metal.

BTW, there is this awesome female-fronted death metal band called CRYPTA from Brazil. I really want to see them on their North America tour but unfortunately they are not coming to my city. Some of my other fave female metal artists are Hulder (black) and Nervosa (thrash). I think one way we might be able to get more women interested in metal is supporting and promoting female artists.
